Have you noticed some of the temperatures lately? If you’re not a South Florida resident, this summer has been quite the scorcher, with the digits usually staying firmly within the mid to upper 90s. With such sultry numbers, spending a day at the beach is practically a requirement. If you’re planning on visiting during the summer, there are a couple you may want to check out first.

Nature lovers will definitely want to check out North Shore Open Space Park on A1A and 72nd Street right here in Miami Beach. Visitors will find welcoming picnic areas, long stretches of sun-kissed sand,  dunes, and of course the inimitable Miami Beach vibe. The Mid-Beach area has a boardwalk that makes for a fantastic stroll through ritzy hotels, popular bars, and great eateries.

For those that feel so inclined, Haulover Beach Park is just a couple of minutes north of Miami Beach in Sunny Isles and has a clothing optional area, the only legally recognized area of its kind in all of Miami-Dade County.

Families may want to head over to Crandon Park Beach in the island of Key Biscayne. The parents can sit back and sunbathe while the kids enjoy a variety of activities. There are also concession stands and picnic tables available. Keep in mind you’ll need to pay a toll to enter the island.
